French Roulette Rules
Chance has an important part in French Roulette, played on a table that has a ball and a roulette wheel. The game of roulette has a lot of versions, but French Roulette follows the standard European rules. In French roulette, the wheel has 37 slots representing 36 numbers and one zero. In the USA most roulette wheels have two zeros and therefore, thirty-eight slots. So, the roulette player has a better odds of winning if playing French Roulette. Moreover, the placing of numbers is different in both of the versions.
French Roulette rules are similar to that of the original roulette. French roulette players try to predict the number where the ball will fall after it stops spinning on the roulette wheel. Normally, up to 8 roulette players can place bets on the table. The croupier who is the French version of a dealer spins the roulette wheel and throw the ball. The ball will in the end will stop in one of the numbered slots on the roulette wheel. Players who guessed the number where the ball comes to a stop, win.
In French Roulette, there are 3 types of bets, inside bets, outside bets and call bets. For an inside bet, the roulette player bets on one number or a combination of numbers that are situated on the inside part of the table layout. For an marginal bet, the roulette player bets on numbers in the outside of the table layout or on a combination of numbers and also on colors (red/black). Call or announced bets are of many different types in French Roulette. ‘Neighbors of 0’ (Voisins du zero), which covers 17 numbers located as an arc on the roulette table and ‘one-third of the cylinder’ (Tiers du Cylindre) which covers twelve numbers in the arc formed between twenty-seven and thirty-three are the two big call bets.
The other 8 numbers located in mini arcs of the wheel, are called orphelins (orphans). Any bet on these numbers is named Orphelins en plein and covers the orphans with 1 chip on each number, and “Orphlins a Cheval” that covers the “orphan” numbers with one chip on one, one on 17, and the others chips on the other numbers. You will win the bet if the ball stops at the color, number or combination of numbers that you chose to bet on.
The following system is the French Roulette Rules on pay outs: For a straight-up bet which is located on one number only, the payout is thirty-five to 1, and the player is able to collect 36 or thirty-seven without House advantage. A split bet is a two-number bet, an inside bet and is a made on two neighboring numbers. The pay out on this is 17 to 1. A 3-number bet pays 11 to 1. This is called street bet, and the chip is located on the marginal line at the beginning of the row. A four-number bet is an inside bet on four numbers. Those numbers are in a square layout named corner or square, and this bet pays eight to 1. The payout for a six-number bet is 5 to one and on the outside dozen or column, the payout is 2 to one. Outside bets pay lower amounts, and on the outside even money bets pay one to 1.
